Talk: Code Hygiene - How to actually manage legacy Speaker: Bas de Ruiter
Location: Mollie Keizersgracht 126, 1015 CW Amsterdam
If you've ever worked on a code base that has been earning money for over 10 years, you have had the pleasure to work with legacy. Most developers at some point will have the urge to throw it all out and rebuild the big ball of mud into a properly designed application.
However, business needs seem to always be prioritized and you never get the time to overhaul the older parts of the application into a modern architecture.
In this talk, I will explain the pitfalls to avoid and improvements you can actually make while working on stories that will improve the readability and predictability of the code base.
It is designed to be accessible for junior developers, but I expect more experienced developer also might pick up a thing or two.
